| The DTAK research group (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya operates at the convergence of Computer Science (CS), Data Science (DS), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), advancing data management foundations for DS and AI. The group focuses on automating and democratizing the full data lifecycle to enable the trustworthy, scalable transformation of data into operational knowledge. Our research addresses the systematic integration of governance, quality, discovery, contextualization, and scalability as intrinsic components of data systems. Guided by a “Data to Knowledge and Data for Knowledge” vision, DTAK develops methods to transform raw data into structured, usable knowledge while leveraging knowledge-based techniques to enhance the reliability of data processing and AI pipelines. The group’s work spans automated data governance, scalable data discovery and integration, statistically grounded data quality, knowledge-enhanced AI architectures, large-scale data management across the computing continuum, and data management for generative AI. |
